Brother Dege is pure channeled soul minus the big money record label and promotional budgets. Dege is a musician and writer, born/raised in the swamplands of Louisiana. Like the possessed love child of Son House and Blind Willie Johnson, he plays a post-Americana style of Delta Blues filtered through roots music, rock & roll, and a bunch of other stuff. No tradition can live on without the growing pains of its innovators. Well, here it is: Delta Blues for the 21st century in the form of Brother Dege's Folk Songs of the American Longhair.
