Bro-Diddy to Kick-off Baton Rouge Blues Fest with Rent Party gig

From Nola.com
A “rent party” -- historically used to raise money for musicians to help pay their rent -- is being hosted by the Baton Rouge Blues Foundation on April 11.
The event, the evening before the Baton Rouge Blues Festival, features a performance by Brother Dege and The Brethren. Brother Dege is a Lafayette artist whose music is described as a “blend of 21st century trance-folk/Delta blues/punk/rock/metal/hippie ragas/avant outlaw country.” His song “Too Old to Die Young” was used in the movie Django Unchained.
The event is going to be hosted at the Prince Hall Masonic Temple, 1339 North Boulevard. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show runs from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.
